The Toyota GR Corolla is a five-door, sport compact hatchback or “hot hatch” that Toyota introduced in 2022. In 2020, Toyota unveiled the GR Yaris, a sports hatchback developed by their Gazoo Racing (GR) division for the World Rally Championship. With the Toyota Yaris lacking demand in North America, Toyota ultimately decided to develop a new vehicle which ended up being the GR Corolla.
The GR Corolla debuted for the 2023 model year. The same powertrain configuration is also used for the 2024 GR Corolla. It comes with a 1.6-liter intercooled turbo I3 engine that produces 300 hp and 273 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT) with rev matching. Awesome features of the GR Corolla include gas-pressurized shock absorbers, a sport-tuned suspension, 4-wheel vented disc brakes, 18-inch gloss black 15-spoke aluminum cast alloy wheels, and an electric power-assist speed-sensing steering mechanism. The GR Corolla is available in three trims, namely Core, Premium, and Circuit. With the GR Corolla Circuit, you get heated front sport seats, a sport heated leather steering wheel, a voice-activated automatic air-conditioning system, and 18-inch 10-spoke forged BBS alloy wheels among other inclusions.
When to Replace Your GR Corolla Air Filter
Your GR Corolla comes with an engine air filter and cabin air filter. The engine air filter is often replaced every 30,000 miles. Check your owner’s manual for any applicable warranties and the recommended replacement interval. Cabin air filters should also be changed after 15,000 miles for clean indoor air.
